What:
In the recent Rolling Stone's The Playlist Issue 50 artists share their personal favorite songs from other artists or genres. As you can see in the cover pictured above, you have Bono pickin' on David Bowie, Arcade Fire's Win Butler on the Boss, Yoko Ono on John Lennon, Dave Grohl on punk (actually, hardcore), and so on. Rolling Stone is weekly online publishing the playlists. I'm weekly spotifyin' 'em.
Comments:
Below you find each single playlist from the first week. Advice: listen to it, while reading how each artist motivated its choices (every playlist begins with the link to Rolling Stone's page). Some playlists are greatest hits oriented, some others (Rufus Wainwright on Leonard Cohen, for instance) are based on more obscure songs. All are rather interesting. At bottom, you find the mammoth playlist (including all the single ones). Enjoy!

i enjoy dese lists as well...bt dint get wat u mean by "Bono: David Bowie" nd "15 tracks out of 15"?
ReplyDelete"bono: bowie" means that those david bowie songs were chosen by bono (look here: http://rollingstoneextras.com/playlists/view/bono)
ReplyDelete"15 tracks out of 15" means that I found on music service Spotify fifteen of the fifteen tracks included in the playlist (it's rare that 100% of songs are available on Spotify, as you may see in other playlists of this blog)
