Here it comes the eighth rock history lesson, courtesy of italian magazine Il Mucchio and its old Classic Rock special features (originally published in the second half of the 90s). After Punk, New Wave, Dark/Gothic, Hard Rock, Psychedelia, Power Pop and Canterbury scene, it's time to forgive the winter and dance with some sunny tunes from the golden age of Reggae (1968-1981)

Comment:
Burning Spear's Marcus Garvey comes along with the dub version of the same album Garvey's Ghost. The Harder They Come was the soundtrack of a jamaican 1972 flick, with the same title and Jimmy Cliff as main character. Nice curiosity: one of its songs - The Melodians' Rivers of Babylon - is also featured in a new movie that I just saw a couple of days ago at the Torino Film Festival: Jack Goes Boating, directorial debut by actor Philip Seymour Hoffman. It's a strong New York drama, whose best and funniest scene involves The Melodians' tune.
